An argument full of rhetorical questions is completely foolish… No sense beating in a point that’s been made 20 times over. #nonsense — HerminioRodriguezIII (@hfactor91)

Oh you’re a firefighter and EMT?? That’s cool. I wanted to do that when I was a kid. What do you make? WHAT DO I MAKE?? I make holding your hand seem like the biggest thing in the world when i’m cutting you out of a car. I can make 5 minutes seem like a lifetime when I go in a burning house to save your family. I make those annoying sirens seem like angels when you need them. I can make your children breathe when they stop. I can help you survive a heart attack. I make myself get out of bed at 3am to risk my life to save people I’ve never met. Today I might make the ultimate sacrifice to save your life. I make a difference what do you make? REPOST if you are a firefighter, EMT, or a medic.

When have you ever given enough? I can’t think of a single time when there wasn’t something more I could do, or something I could have done better, or even something I should have done differently.

Luck may influence success, but rarely to the degree that attitude and effort do.

Just a little food for thought…that’s all.

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

So true…

putting things in motion, putting things in place

beneaththehelmet:

At Fire Engineering we find this essay on how leaders make or break the success of their personnel — and it’s based on the actions (or inaction) of the leader.  By establishing and maintaining an understanding of expectations among those around you, you can ensure that everyone is doing the right thing.  And that builds the foundation on which everyone can grow and succeed.

Whether or not you’re wearing bugles on your collar, you can use leadership traits like those mentioned here to make a difference in yourself and those around you.  You might even impress your superiors to do a better job at leading you.
